After giving birth to Jesus, Mary was named Virgin Mary as it was believed that Mary was a virgin when she conceived Jesus through a miracle of God and she remained a virgin for her entire life. She is known in many titles, Queen of Heaven, Theotokos, and Our Lady. Virgin Mary is highly regarded by Roman Catholic and Orthodox Churches because of her humility, piety and role as the mother of the Savior of humanity. She is also the pre-eminent saint and the focuso of much popular devotion. On 8 September, the feast of the nativity of Mary is celebrated both in the Othodox and the Roman Catholic. |
